Amsterdam Art Gallery is proud to introduce Russian paintings to all our visitors. They are our speciality and we have a lot of their artworks for sale. Today we are going to talk to you about two of them - Schigolev Oleg and Yakovlev Alexander.
They are from the same city but just look how their paintings are different. The artworks by Schigolev Oleg are as rich as the nature around his home city, Lugansk – you can have a look at "Sunflowers and Sea", "Balance". And the paintings of Yakovlev Alexander are portraits but executed in rather abstract manner, with just a few brisk lines of a pencil - "What do you say", "Nude. Conceived", and the others.
Schigolev Oleg has artworks in several genres and topics. For example, there are also some paintings of fairy-tale, magic genre made by him (“Gryphon”), and of the religious theme as well ("Still life of archangel weighing souls").
Look at his "Portrait in yellow". This is a tender and wonderful picture of a girl probably from the past centuries. She is calmly reading a book. Also, he has some abstract pictures such as “Day”, “Night”, “Evening”. They represent these parts of the day through an unexpected set of things. A truly artistic vision. His works are in the Lugansk Art Museum and his works are often exhibited in Lugansk as well.
Yakovlev Alexander. This artist prefers to paint portraits – but in his interesting and extraordinary manner, nude paintings, and also landscapes and still life. But the portraits are the most numerous among his artworks. If you like this genre, too, you will find a lot of unusual works. He paints many faces and bodies - “Young Artist”, “Teacher”, "Self-portrait" and others. Alexander knows how to reproduce human character and emotions on the canvas. When looking at his artworks, you have an impression that you met all these people in the real life. He is not painting only beautiful faces. On the contrary, he is a realist. We know that nobody’s perfect. By his paintings Alexander shows and discovers poetry and something interesting in ordinary people. He is a great admirer of woman’s beauty and he paints a lot of nude women. Look at his “Birdie”, “Switty”, “Angel” and many others. He paints them in his manner and this manner produces a very nice impact: it seems to be hiding something from the naked woman’s body and leaves the space for our imagination to complete the picture.
Amsterdam Art Gallery offers you all these artworks for sale on-line. We hope that you can find something for you among our paintings. (c)Yana Strelbizkaya
