ME

An incorrigible perfectionist, a moderate case of a health nut, a hopeless night owl and a disorganized neat freak, I have a very wide range of skills and interests and art is one of them. I do it because it makes me happy. I want to share the happiness.

FACTS

I was born on August 16, 1976, in Lugansk, Ukraine. As long as I remember myself, I was a kid with a pencil and a piece of paper. I graduated from Lugansk Junior Art School but in the end turned to languages and literature for a career (MA in English and Russian Philology, 1998, Lugansk State Pedagogical University, Ukraine). In 2004 I moved to USA. Now I live in Flagstaff, Arizona, and divide my time between family, art, design and writing.

MY ART (aka “Alternative Relaxation Technique”)

My first and biggest love was drawing. In my head I\'m still more of a graphic artist. Though, I do cheat on pencils with oils and other materials. :) But no matter what genre or material or technique, I always strive to find the balance of simplicity and uniqueness in composition, focusing on one single object, mood or emotion and trying to showcase the beauty hidden in everyday life. Occasionally, I turn to abstract art.

… and try to learn from? There\'s a long list but currently the top three would probably be contemporary artists Denis Chernov (Ukraine) and Duane Keiser (USA), and an English Romantic landscape painter William Turner (1775 – 1851)
