\"I am happy when a person looking at my pictures feels my point
of view and my understanding of beauty. I am always trying to
be candid in my art. The slightest insincerity might reflect
in canvas. I think that there are no bad pictures. If a person
takes a brush in his hand, he will try to make his creation beautiful.
And this eagerness will be imprinted in painting, doesn’t matter whether
it is professional or not…\"
Oleg was born on 16th of September 1950, he has been drawing
since the age of 8, and at 15 he started to exhibit his artworks.
In 1969 the artist graduated from Dnepropetrovsk Art School.
Since 1976 he takes part in exhibitions and sells his art and
since 1985 he is a member of National Union of Ukrainian Artists.
Now Oleg Schigolev lives and works in Lugansk.
He doesn’t limit himself to some particular topic neither to
some particular genre. Oleg paints everything.
\"Just be sincere and the time will choose you\" that is the
philosophy of Oleg’s art. As to the other artists he likes Breighel,
Modilliani, Vrubel, among Lugansk artists – Ivan Hubskiy.
