Vasiliy Matveevich Kikinev has reared an artist and an architect - they are his son and his daughter. His philosophy in art is \"kindness\".
Vasiliy was born on the 23rd of January 1930 in the village Malyshkine, which is in Rostov region of Russia. In 1954 he graduated from Lugansk State Art College. And in 1980 he became a member of the National Union of Ukrainian Artists. He took part in many regional, republican and all-Union exhibitions.
Though most of Vasiliy\'s paintings are realistic, he doesn\'t paint only temporal world. This artist created many icons and presented them to churches all over Ukraine. His works are in The Annunciation Cathedral and St. Panteleymon Church (Kharkov), St. Vladimir Cathedral, Ilyinskaya Church, St. Mykola Naberezhny Church (Kiev), St. George Cathedral and Pochaev monastery (L\'viv) and other.
His favorite picture among his own paintings is \"Alexey Stakhanov\". According to the artist in this picture one can see \"the time and the whole-hearted impulse of a man\".
\"I dream about being able to paint a lot, but unfortunately my life doesn\'t give such an opportunity often. May be that\'s why I have chosen \"Never give up!\" as a motto for myself\".
